Frozen life

For weeks on end frost has it’s iron grip on the land, and a white blanket of snow covers the earth.
The sun fights an endless battle against heavy clouds full of more snow, and only breaks the gray ceiling for a few moments, not able to warm the life out in the cold.
Life has come to a standstill, and in the forests branches can't bear the load any more, and snap with a silent crack. Cold is creeping into the warmest clothes, and nests itself deep in the bones.
